Buy a subscription for another family

If you are the purchaser:

  • How do I purchase a prepaid subscription for a friend or another family?
    • Your recipient will use this amount to cover their monthly Greenlight subscription for any plan type. 
    • Start on our Greenlight Subscription page.
    • Select your prepaid subscription credit amount. Choose from $30/$60/$90/$120. 
    • Enter a few details, including who it is from and who to send it to.
    • Choose to deliver the subscription credit to the recipient instantly via email or print it out and hand deliver it later.
    • Purchase the subscription using a Debit/Credit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay.
  • Who can I buy a prepaid subscription for?
    • You can purchase a subscription for a new or existing Greenlight customer.
  • Can I cancel the subscription I purchased?
    • If the recipient has not yet redeemed their subscription, then our customer service team can process a refund for the purchase. If the recipient has already redeemed the subscription, we cannot process a refund.
  • Why was my subscription purchase refunded?
    • If the subscription purchased is not redeemed by the recipient within 60-days after purchase, it will be automatically refunded back to the purchaser.
  • Can I purchase a Greenlight subscription for any plan type?
    • Yes! Purchasers select a Greenlight credit amount that can then be applied to whichever plan type the recipient chooses. Recipients can choose from Greenlight Core, Greenlight Max, or Greenlight Infinity plans.
  • What happens when there’s a reversal, return or chargeback on the subscription purchase? 
    • If a purchaser’s payment for a subscription purchase is reversed, returned or charged back, we will notify both the purchaser and recipient and deduct that amount from the subscription credit balance. Future monthly fees will be charged directly to the funding source on the account holder's profile.

If you are the recipient:

  • How do I redeem my Greenlight subscription credit?
    • Navigate to the ‘Settings -> Funding -> Redeem code’ section of the Greenlight app. 
    • Select ‘Subscription’ and enter the subscription code you received from the purchaser. 
    • Your Greenlight fee will be debited each month directly from the subscription credit amount until it runs out.
    • Existing Greenlight customers: 
    • New Greenlight customers: First, register for a Greenlight account at Greenlight.com. Then, follow the instructions above.
  • How do I see my subscription credit balance?
    • Navigate to the ‘Settings -> Funding -> Redeem code’ section of the Greenlight app. 
    • On the ‘Subscription’ page, you can view your remaining balance.
  • Can I use my subscription credit to fund my Parent’s Wallet or my child’s spending balance? 
    • No, the subscription credit cannot be moved into the Parent’s Wallet or a child’s spending balance. It can only be redeemed for Greenlight subscription fees.
  • Can I redeem my subscription credit for any plan type?
    • Yes! Purchasers select a Greenlight credit amount that can then be applied to whichever plan type the recipient chooses. Recipients can choose from Greenlight Core, Greenlight Max, or Greenlight Infinity plans.
  • Why was my subscription credit refunded?
    • If the subscription purchased is not redeemed by the recipient within 60-days after purchase, it will be automatically refunded back to the purchaser.
  • What happens if I cancel or deactivate my Greenlight account and I still have a subscription credit balance?
    • If you reactivate your account within 6-months, you will have still have access to the subscription credit balance. If the account stays deactivated for more than 6-months, any remaining subscription credits will be forfeited.
  • What happens when there’s a reversal, return or chargeback on the subscription purchase? 
    • If a purchaser’s payment for a subscription purchase is reversed, returned or charged back, we will notify both the purchaser and recipient and deduct that amount from the subscription credit balance. Future monthly fees will be charged directly to the funding source on the account holder's profile.
