What is Autofunding?

Autofunding makes it easy for parents to fund their Greenlight accounts automatically. Autofunding runs daily between 4pm-6pm EST and can be enabled for two types of scenarios:

Parent's Wallet Autofunding

Parent's Wallet Autofunding is useful to ensure you always have enough money in your Parent's Wallet when it comes time to send money to your kids.

  1. Tap on the gear icon on the Parent Dashboard to access Parent Settings.
  2. Tap on "Autofunding."
    • If you do not have Parent's Wallet Autofunding set up, you can also navigate to the Autofunding page by tapping on "Set up autofunding" from the Parent Dashboard.
  3. You will see 3 options under ‘Parent’s Wallet Autofunding’
    • Add money when balance gets low: Automatically add a set amount of funds each time your Parent's Wallet drops below a certain amount that you set.
    • Add money on the 1st of the month: Automatically add a set amount of funds on the 1st of each month.
    • No autofunding: This option keeps autofunding disabled

Child payment Autofunding

Child payment Autofunding can be used to ensure your child's allowance gets paid on schedule even if there is not enough money in your Parent's Wallet at the time of payment.

  1. Tap on the gear icon on the Parent Dashboard to access Parent Settings.
  2. Tap on "Autofunding."
    • If you do not have child payment Autofunding set up, you can also navigate to the Autofunding page by tapping on "Set up autofunding" from the Parent Dashboard.
  3. Once toggled on, your child's allowance will continue to be paid out on time even if there is not enough money in your Parent's Wallet. These funds would come from your connected funding source.
