What is autofunding?

Autofunding the Parent’s Wallet is useful to ensure you always have enough money in your account when your kids need it. You can decide whether Greenlight should move money to your Parent’s Wallet monthly or when the balance hits a certain threshold. 

 

To set up autofunding: 

  1. Use the gear icon on the Parent dashboard to access Parent settings 
  2. Tap on ‘Autofunding’
  • If you do not already have autofunding set up, you may also notice the option to set up autofunding via the Parent wallet tile directly on the Parent dashboard. 
  1. Choose when you’d like funds to be added 
    • When the account is low: automatically add a set amount of funds each time your Parent’s Wallet drops below a certain balance that you set  
    • On the 1st of each month: automatically add a set amount of funds on the 1st of each month 

Autofunding allowance can be used to ensure your child’s allowance gets paid on schedule, even if there is not enough money in your Parent’s Wallet at the time of payment 

 

To set up allowance autofunding: 

  1. Use the gear icon on the Parent dashboard to access Parent settings 
  2. Tap on ‘Autofunding’ 
  3. Under ‘More options’,  tap on ‘Allowance’ 
    • If you do not already have autofunding set up, you may also notice the option to set up autofunding via the Parent wallet tile directly on the Parent dashboard. 
  1. Tap ‘Confirm’ 

Once selected, your child’s allowance will continue to be paid out on time even if there is not enough money in your Parent’s Wallet. These funds come from your connected funding source.
