What is identity theft and deceptive transfer insurance coverage and how can I utilize it?

Families can respond to threats with premium coverage through our Greenlight Family Shield plan! If a scammer pretending to be a trusted person or business misleads you into sending money, you’re covered up to $100K with deceptive transfer fraud coverage.

If someone illegally uses your identity to take out loans, open credit cards, or apply for unemployment, restoration costs are covered up to $1M.

Your coverage begins when you subscribe to our Greenlight Family Shield plan and ends when you cancel your subscription or downgrade from our Greenlight Family Shield plan.

What is "Deceptive transfer fraud"?

Deceptive transfer fraud happens when someone tricks you into transferring personal property or account funds by pretending to be someone you trust, like a family member, friend, or someone you know professionally. They could even be posing as a legitimate organization that you recognize and would expect to contact you!

Who is covered under the Greenlight Family Shield Plan?

Greenlight's Family Shield plan has your family covered! Every family member gets Identity Theft Coverage.

You're also automatically covered by our Deceptive Transfer Fraud Coverage if your external financial accounts are monitored by Greenlight.

What benefits are provided?

Identity Theft Coverage: If you or a family member's identity is used to fraudulently obtain loans, credit cards, or unemployment benefits, this coverage will reimburse you for up to $1 million in restoration costs, with no deductible.

Deceptive Transfer Fraud Coverage (if account monitoring is activated): If you or a family member is deceived into sending cash or investments to an imposter posing as a trusted person or business, this coverage will reimburse losses up to $100,000 (with a $1,000 deductible)

The deductible is applied to the total approved claim amount. For example, if you submit a claim for $5,000 and are approved, you will receive a $4,000 payout.
