If your child received a Greenlight Gift, it can be redeemed in just a few steps! Please note that their Greenlight card must be unlocked to redeem a Greenlight Gift. Click here for more information on how to lock and unlock the Greenlight card.
If your child has the Greenlight app:
Your child can receive a Greenlight Gift by text, email, or a printed code. Once they redeem it in their app, you’ll need to approve the gift before the funds are added to their account.
Here’s how to approve a Greenlight Gift:
- Tap the notification you received, or open your Greenlight app
- On your Parent Dashboard, tap the Greenlight Gift notification in your Notifications hub
- From there, you’ll see any pending gifts ready for approval
- Once approved, the gift amount will be deposited into your child’s General Savings, Spend Anywhere, or the Spend Control selected by the gift sender. Your child will also get a notification once it’s complete.
If your child doesn’t have the Greenlight app:
No problem — you can redeem the gift on their behalf in your Parent app!
Here’s how:
- Open your Greenlight app.
- Tap the gear icon in the top-right corner to open Settings
- Tap “Redeem Codes and Gifts”, then tap “Greenlight Gift”
- Enter the gift code and tap “Redeem”.
- Follow the prompts, choose the correct child, and approve the gift!
