If you see a “Please verify” message under your funding source in the "Funding Sources" section of your Settings, it just means there are a few quick steps needed before you can start adding money to your Greenlight account. Don’t worry — we’ve made the process simple whether you’re using a bank account or a debit card!
Verifying a Bank Account
You have two ways to verify a bank account:
Instant Bank Verification
This is the easiest route. Just log in using your bank credentials through the Greenlight app, and your account will be verified instantly!
Manual Bank Verification
Prefer to enter your info manually? No problem. Here’s how it works:
- You’ll receive two small deposits (each $1.00 or less) in your bank account within 1–2 business days.
- Once you receive them, enter the exact amounts in your Greenlight app when prompted.
- After you verify your bank account, the micro deposits will be withdrawn to offset the total.
If you don’t see the deposits after 3 business days, please reach out to your banking service provider directly to have them take a look at the status of your account.
Verifying a Debit Card
Once you add your debit card and complete your first load, you’ll see two transactions that together add up to the total load amount.
To finish verifying your card:
- Open the Greenlight app
- Tap on the settings gear on your home dashboard
- Tap "Account"
- Tap "Funding”
- Tap “Funding sources”
- Tap the debit card that needs to be verified and enter in the two confirmed transactions
Please make sure that you confirm the two transaction amounts within 3 business days to verify your debit card successfully!
If you haven’t seen the transactions within 4 business days, contact your banking service provider to check the status of your card.
