How do I set up Round Ups?

Round Ups make saving simple — and setting them up is just as easy.

If your child or an older adult uses the Greenlight app, they’ll get a prompt to set up Round Ups after making a purchase. From there, they can choose whether to “Always round up”, “never”, or “Yes” for just this time.

Whether you're a Primary Accountholder, Authorized Approver, kid, or older adult, you can manage Round Ups anytime from the Savings tile on their Greenlight dashboard.

To set up Round Ups:

1. Select their dashboard
2. Tap on the Savings tile
3. Scroll down to the Savings Boosts section.
4. Tap on “Round Ups.”
5. On the Round Ups settings page, toggle on “Round up my purchases” 
6. Choose:
   • Where to “Round up purchased to”: Pick the Savings category you’d like round-up funds to go
   • What to do “When you make a purchase”:
     • Always round up – Every purchase will round up automatically and send the spare change to the savings category you chose.
     • Ask before rounding up – You’ll get a notification after each transaction to decide if you like to round up 

Once you’ve set your preferences, you’re all set!
