How do I pay my child (or older adult) back for a purchase?

Primary Accountholders can now easily send money back to a cardholder for purchases made with their Greenlight card using the new Pay back feature!

It’s especially useful in everyday moments — like when a child uses money they’ve saved to order pizza for the family. The Primary can quickly reimburse that purchase right from the app.

How to Pay back a Transaction

1. Open the Greenlight app and tap on their “Spending” tile
2. Scroll down to their Recent Activity to view their transactions or select a “Spend Control” category to review the transactions
3. Tap on the transaction you’d like to Pay Back to them
4. Tap “Pay back”
5. The funds used to pay them back will always come from your Greenlight Wallet. 

If you do not have enough funds in your Greenlight Wallet to cover the transaction, you can simply add additional funds to your Greenlight Wallet and pay them back once you’re able to! 

6. Tap “Send”

The funds are instantly sent to their Greenlight account, ready for them to spend or save!
