Absolutely! You are welcome to add your Greenlight card to payment apps such as Cash App, Venmo, Apple Cash, PayPal, and other digital wallets as long as you are 13 or older. With permissions enabled, you will be able to add funds to your payment app from your Greenlight card balance, however, you will not be able to add funds from your payment apps to your Greenlight card balance.
To ensure that your account and Greenlight card remain secure, you and your family members (cardholder, Primary Accountholder, and Approver) will receive notifications to your trusted devices asking you to confirm if you, or the cardholder, attempted to add the Greenlight card to a payment app.
How do I approve the attempt to add the Greenlight card to a payment app?
When an attempt is made to add the Greenlight card to a payment app, a notification will be sent to your device for you to review the attempt:
- While “Reviewing” the notification, tap “Yes” when asked if you, or the cardholder, added the Greenlight card to the payment app.
- Once it is confirmed by tapping “Yes”, you will be brought to a confirmation screen letting you know that the Greenlight card has been added successfully!
- All family members will then receive an additional push notification to their trusted devices, letting you know that the cardholder’s card is ready to be used with that verified payment app.
You’ll only need to complete this approval step once for each payment app you’d like to use with your Greenlight card.

How long do I have to respond?
You will have 2 hours to respond to a payment app attempt notification to confirm or deny it. If no one approves or denies the attempt within that time, the request will expire.
I allowed my Greenlight card to be used with payment apps but my transaction was declined. Why?
Even if your Greenlight card is allowed to be used with payment apps, some transactions may still be declined for security reasons.
Is there a limit on how many payment apps I can add my Greenlight card to?
With permissions enabled, you can add your Greenlight card to any payment app you use.
Just keep in mind, your Greenlight card can only be linked to one active account per payment app. For example, you wouldn’t be able to use the same Greenlight card on two different Cash App accounts at the same time.
If you ever need to unlink your Greenlight card from one account and connect it to another, please contact the payment app directly for help with that process.
