How can I add, or delete, a second parent/adult?

As a primary account holder, you can add a second parent/approver to your Greenlight account. The second parent can approve or deny requests, transfer funds to the child’s card, create spending rules for your child, and add money to your Parent's Wallet from any linked funding source.

To add a second parent/adult:

1) Navigate to your Settings by tapping the gear icon in the top right of your Parent Dashboard
2) Tap “Family” then select Add an adult
3) Provide the first name, last name, and phone number of the person you’d like to invite as your second parent/adult and then send your invite by clicking "Add Parent" at the bottom of your screen

Once you add this person to your account, they will receive an SMS message to download the Greenlight app, create an account, and enable push notifications.

Your second parent/adult will also have the option to add their own funding source to the Greenlight app through the Parent's Wallet.

During this process, they will be required to verify their identity with their address and last 4 digits of their SSN. We ask for this information because, like all financial service providers, we are required by the US Patriot Act to verify identity when linking banking information. Greenlight's top priority is safety, and we use military-grade encryption to protect your information.

From the Parent's Wallet, the second parent/adult can use the instant bank verification feature to securely and instantly connect their checking or savings account, and load a minimum of $1 instantly. Or, they can connect their debit card, which has a minimum load amount of $20.

Please note: your second parent/adult is able to pull money from your Parent's Wallet and transfer to your child’s card.

Why am I being asked to verify my identity?

Federal regulations require us to verify the identity of any customer who wants to set up a funding source to fund their Parent's Wallet.
