In the Greenlight app, your activity history includes a running balance so you can easily see how your available funds change over time.
You’ll see a running balance in:
- Greenlight Wallet activity
- Spend Anywhere transaction history
- Spend Control activity
- Savings history
Each transaction shows how your balance changes after that activity, making it easier to track where your money is going and how much is available.
How does the running balance update?
Every time money moves in or out of a balance, the running balance updates automatically.
That includes:
- Purchases
- Transfers between balances
- Money added to your account
- Funds moved to Savings or Spend Controls
The running balance reflects your most up-to-date available amount based on the current status of each transaction.
If you see funds move automatically after a purchase, it may be related to your Spend Control settings. You can learn more about “Return Change” here!
What is a pending transaction?
A pending transaction means a purchase has been authorized but hasn’t fully settled yet.
When this happens, the authorized amount is temporarily set aside from your available balance. Once the merchant confirms the final charge, the transaction posts and your running balance will update.
What does “Processing” mean?
If you see “Processing” instead of your running balance next to a transaction, it simply means the final amount hasn’t been confirmed or collected yet.
This often happens with purchases like:
- Gas stations
- Restaurants (before tips are added)
- Hotels or rentals
Once the transaction settles, the final amount will post and your balance will adjust automatically.
