What Is Greenlight Credit Monitoring and Protection?

Greenlight Credit Monitoring and Protection helps you stay on top of your credit and protect it from unauthorized activity — all within the Greenlight app!

Through our partnership with Array, you can view your credit score, monitor your credit report, receive alerts about important changes, and lock or unlock your credit file right from your app. It’s designed to give you simple, ongoing visibility into your credit so you can feel confident about what’s happening.

What does Greenlight Credit Monitoring include?

With Credit Monitoring, you can:

  • View your credit score anytime in the app
  • Access your TransUnion credit report, updated every 30 days
  • Receive alerts about certain changes to your credit file
  • Lock and unlock your TransUnion credit file for added protection

Where does my credit score come from?

Your credit score in Greenlight is based on your TransUnion credit file.

In the app, you’ll see your VantageScore 3.0, a credit scoring model used by all three major credit bureaus (TransUnion, Experian, and Equifax). While the scoring model is shared across bureaus, the data used to calculate your score in Greenlight comes only from TransUnion.

We partner with Array to securely access and display your TransUnion credit information right in the app, so you can easily keep an eye on your credit.

It’s normal for the credit score in your Greenlight app to differ slightly from scores shown elsewhere, since other services may use different credit bureau data or scoring models.

Does Greenlight lock all three credit bureaus?

No. The credit lock feature in Greenlight applies only to your TransUnion credit file.

Locking your credit in the app helps protect your TransUnion credit file by restricting when it can be accessed. Greenlight does not lock your Experian or Equifax credit files.

If you’d like to freeze or place a fraud alert on your Experian or Equifax files, you can learn more from the Federal Trade Commission here:

Who can sign up for Credit Monitoring?

Credit Monitoring is available on the Family Shield plan and is not activated automatically.

Each eligible adult on the account can choose to turn on Credit Monitoring in their own Greenlight app. This includes

  • Primary Accountholders
  • Approvers
  • Older adults

Because credit monitoring is personal, each family member manages their own enrollment and settings within their individual Greenlight account.
