Yes! Kids can suggest their own chores right from the Greenlight app — whether they’re looking to pitch in more at home or earn extra money. To make sure your whole family can take full advantage of the Chores feature, please ensure that both you and your child(ren) have updated to the latest version of the app.
How kids can "Suggest a chore"
- Tap the “Chores” dashboard
- Tap “Suggest a chore”
- Fill in the Chore details:
- Chore name
- Chore description
- Suggested payment (optional)
- A message to your parent sharing why you’d like to take on this chore or earn from it
- Tap “Send”
Once the chore suggestion is sent, the parent will receive a notification to review it. They can approve it as-is, edit the details, or decline it. Easy!
How will my child know if a chore is approved?
After the parent reviews the suggestion, the child will receive a push notification letting them know whether the chore was assigned to them or no.
If approved, the chore will automatically appear in their Chores list, ready to complete.
