If your furry family member is wearing the device, Pet Mode is the setting you want! It's designed specifically for pets so that tracking stays accurate and battery life isn't wasted on unnecessary updates.
How does Pet Mode work?
When Pet Mode is enabled on your Safe Pets device, or Greenlight Safe Family device, the device only tracks and updates location when footsteps (or paw steps!) are detected. It won't log location while your pet is in a moving vehicle, which prevents car trips from being mistaken for your pet's actual movements. This setting is recommended for pets that wear the device at all times.
How do I turn on Pet Mode?
Pet Mode is turned off by default. Only the primary account holder can enable it.
- From your safety dashboard, tap the "Settings" gear in the top right corner, then tap "My family & devices"
- Scroll down to "Safe Family Devices" and select the device you'd like to update
- Tap "Device tracking"
- Scroll down to "Advanced tracking settings"
- Toggle on "Pet Mode"
