Greenlight offers a few different products, and it’s completely normal to wonder how they fit together. Here’s a plain-language breakdown of what each one is and what it’s built to do.
The Greenlight App
The Greenlight app is Greenlight’s mobile application, available for iPhone and Android. It’s not a physical product but the software that ties everything together! Whether you're accessing Greenlight's financial tools, tracking a Safe Family Device, or controlling your Family Hub, it all happens through the app.
If you’re a Greenlight customer, the app is where you live.

The Greenlight Family Hub
The Greenlight Family Hub is a smart home display for family organization! It’s a physical device that sits in your home — on a counter, shelf, or wall — and gives your whole family a shared screen for the Calendars, Chores, To-do lists, Photos, and more.
It’s built for the home. It doesn’t travel with anyone, and it doesn’t require kids to have a phone to use it. Think of it as a central command center for your household. However, you can manage the information synced to your Family Hub right from your Greenlight app as well.
The Family Hub comes with a free plan included. We also have a plus plan available for families who want some additional (awesome) features!

The Greenlight Safe Family Device
The Greenlight Safe Family Device is a small, lightweight GPS tracker built for family members who don't carry a smartphone — young kids, older adults, or even pets. It uses GPS and LTE to send real-time location updates directly to your Greenlight app, no phone needed on their end.
Key features include real-time location tracking, place alerts, an SOS button, fall detection, and up to 30 days of battery life. It works in 120+ countries.
Each device comes with a data subscription included, just choose 6 or 12 months at checkout!

Do I need all three?
Not necessarily, it just depends on what your family needs!
The app is part of any Greenlight experience, so that one's a given. Beyond that, it really comes down to your family's lifestyle. If you want a dedicated screen at home where everyone can stay on the same page at a glance, the Family Hub is a great fit. If keeping tabs on a family member who doesn't carry a phone is the priority, the Safe Family Device is built for exactly that.
If you're exploring Greenlight's financial tools like debit cards for kids and older adults, investing, savings goals, and more, our family financial plans are a great place to start. Those features are available separately from the Family Hub and Safe Family Device, so you can mix and match based on what works for your family.
They're all designed to work well together, but each one stands on its own too!
