Your Greenlight app doesn't have to look the same as everyone else's! On the "Appearance" screen, you can change your app's theme and choose the app icon that shows on your home screen.
Both settings are purely for looks and personal to your device, so changing them won't affect your account, your cards, or how anything about your app works.
Please note: Appearance settings are available in the Greenlight iOS app, version 8.10.0 and later. They aren't available on Android yet.
Your app theme options
There are three options, and every account starts on "System".
| App theme | What it does |
| System | Follows your iPhone's Light/Dark Mode settings and changes along with it. This is the default, and it keeps Greenlight matching the rest of your phone. |
| Light | Keeps the app light no matter what your phone is set to. This is useful if your phone is in Dark Mode but you'd rather keep Greenlight light. |
| Dark | Keeps the app dark no matter what your phone is set to, even when your phone isn't in Dark Mode. |
How to change your app theme
To pick a theme:
- Open your Greenlight app
- Tap the settings gear in the top right of your Home Dashboard to open "Settings"
- Tap "App Preferences"
- Tap "Appearance"
- Under "App theme", tap "System", "Light", or "Dark"
The change takes effect right away, and it sticks until you change it again.
Choosing a custom app icon
On the same "Appearance" screen, scroll down to "App icon" and tap the one you want. Your home screen updates in a moment.
There are two sets to choose from:
- Classic — Classic (the green icon you already know) and Inverse (green lettering on dark green)
- Monochrome — Lagoon, Lime, Ruby, Piggybank, Tangerine, and Grape
Your icon choice is separate from your app theme, so you can mix and match!
If something doesn't look right
If a screen is hard to read or isn't displaying the way you expect, switching your app theme to "Light" is a quick workaround.
