Can my child or older adult move money from Savings to Spending without my approval?

We know every family is different — that's why you get to decide how much financial independence your child or older adult has! 

By default, cardholders will need approval from the Primary Accountholder before moving money from Savings to Spending, but you can easily change that whenever you’d like.

How do I turn off the approval requirement for Savings transfers?

Once you turn this on, they can move money out of their Savings accounts without approval. The funds will show up instantly.

1. Open the Greenlight app
2. Tap their Dashboard at the top of the screen
3. Tap "Profile" in the top right corner
4. Tap "Permissions"
5. Toggle "Transfer out of savings" to ON

Note: This setting works per family member, so you can give one child more freedom while keeping a closer eye on another's spending!
