What is the impact of crash detection on my phone's battery?

When ‘Crash Detection’ is turned on, your phone battery will drain by about 2% for every hour of active driving — unless your phone is plugged in while you're on the road.

In order for ‘Crash Detection’ to work effectively, your phone battery needs to be at least 20% or higher. Learn more here.

Trying to save battery during a trip? You can always turn ‘Crash Detection’ off:

  1. Open your Greenlight app
  2. Go to your ‘Safety’ section
  3. Toggle ‘Crash Detection’ off

Just keep in mind — when Crash Detection is turned off, it won’t be able to detect or respond to any crash events until you turn it back on.
