To close your Invest account(s), you may downgrade your account in the app or contact Greenlight Customer Support by filling out this form.
What will happen to my investing accounts if I downgrade?
If you downgrade your account from “Greenlight + Invest” or “Greenlight Max” to “Greenlight Core”:
All of the investments in your Investing for Kids profiles will be sold automatically on your next billing date and all funds within these accounts will be moved back to your Parent’s Wallet.
All of the investments in your Investing for Parents account will not be sold when downgraded to Greenlight Core. Once you are on Greenlight Core, you will still be able to see all of your active investments and sell them at any time, but after your next billing date you will not longer be able to purchase or research any stocks or ETFs that are not in the limited selection of 10 ETF list available to parents on the Greenlight Core plan.
To downgrade your “Greenlight + Invest” plan or “Greenlight Max” plan to a “Greenlight Core” plan:
- Navigate to your Settings by tapping the gear icon in the top right of your Parent Dashboard
- Tap "Account" then select My plan
- From this page, you can tap the “Switch to this Plan” button underneath the “Greenlight Core” plan to downgrade to our lowest plan
- You will be presented with a notification that reminds you all your securities within your Investing for Kids account(s) will be automatically liquidated on your next billing date (or when the Market is next open after your billing date.)
Note: After downgrading your plan, you will have access to your Invest account and all features within it until your next regular billing date. All funds from the sale of your securities (on your next billing date) will appear in your Parent’s Wallet after the normal settlement process (2 business days.)
