Getting started with Credit Monitoring is simple and only takes a few minutes in the app. Here’s how to turn it on and what to expect after you enroll.
How do I activate Credit Monitoring?
To activate Credit Monitoring:
- Log in to your Greenlight app
- Tap the “Accounts" tab at the bottom of your screen
- Under Credit Protection, tap “Activate” to turn on Credit and Identity Protection
- Tap “Activate identity protection”
- Review the Terms of Service, then tap “Acknowledge & continue”
You may be asked to verify your identity as part of the enrollment process. Credit bureaus require identity authentication before monitoring can begin.
If you’ve already completed identity verification during your Greenlight account setup, you likely won’t need to provide additional information. Otherwise, you may be asked to verify your personal information, answer security questions, or enter a secure one-time passcode as part of your enrollment process.
Once verification is complete, Credit Monitoring for your account will be active!
How long does it take for my credit score to appear?
After you enroll in Credit Protection, it may take a few minutes for us to retrieve your most recent credit report.
Once it’s available, your credit score will appear under the “Credit Protection” section in your “Accounts” tab, along with the date your score was last updated!
After activation, a new credit report is generated every 30 days, and your score will refresh based on updates from TransUnion.

What if my score hasn’t updated?
If you think your score hasn’t updated and it’s been a few days, try the following:
- Fully close and reopen the Greenlight app
- Log out and log back in
- Make sure you’re using the most recent version of the Greenlight app
If your score still doesn’t look correct, you may want to wait until your next credit report is generated (reports refresh every 30 days). Reviewing the updated report can give you more detailed information if you need to contact TransUnion about a potential issue.
