Place alerts are a great way for you to stay connected with your kids, pets, or Elder loved ones! They allow you to receive alerts whenever your Greenlight Safe Family device enters or leaves a set area on the map.
Will my existing place alerts apply to my new device?
Yes, if you already have place alerts set up on your existing Greenlight account, they'll automatically apply to your new Safe Family device. You can review and adjust them at any time from your place alerts settings!
How do I create a new place alert?
Here's how to add a custom place alert for your device:
- From your Device page/ Safety dashboard, tap "Set up" or "Manage all place alerts"
- Under "My Places", tap "Add a new place"
- Type in the place's address
- Use the slider at the bottom of your screen to adjust the alert zone — you'll receive a notification whenever your device enters or leaves the green area
- Adjust the toggles for all devices or people on your account so you can decide what kind of alerts you’d like to receive for that place, and for which device or person
- Tap "Save" in the top right corner of your screen
How do I manage or edit an existing place alert?
To update an existing place alert, go to your Device page/ Safety dashboard, and tap "Manage all place alerts". From there, you can edit the address, adjust the zone size, or update which devices and family members the alert applies to.

Which family members receive place alert notifications?
Place alert notifications are sent to the Primary Accountholder and any approved viewers who have permission to see that device's location. Learn how to add family members as viewers.
