Important: If you signed up for Greenlight through a partner institution or promotional offer through your bank, you will not be able to add a Safe Family device to your current plan. See our billing and data subscription FAQs for details.
How do I add a device if I'm on Greenlight Core, Max, Infinity, or Family Shield?
- Scan the QR code on the back of your device with your smartphone's camera
- Open the Greenlight app and tap "Sign in" to log in to your account
- The app will automatically detect your Safe Family device using the QR code you scanned
Tip: If your device doesn't appear automatically, scan the QR code again or manually enter the 13-digit serial number located on the back of your device.
- When prompted, assign a name and choose a photo or emoji for your device — this is how it will appear on your map in the Greenlight app
- Tap "Next"
- Review your plan details on the confirmation screen
Tip: What you see on this screen depends on when you purchased your device. If you purchased a bundled plan, you'll see $0 due today along with your first renewal date and amount — your payment method is saved for renewal only. If you purchased your device before June 22, 2026, you'll see an itemized breakdown of your monthly subscription fee and a prorated amount due at activation.
- If you already have a payment method on file, tap "Confirm" to complete your device setup. If you need to add a new one, tap "Confirm and add payment method"
- Tap "Save payment method" to complete your setup

How do I add another device if I'm already on the Safe Family plan?
If you're already on the Greenlight Safe Family plan and want to add a second or additional device, the process is just as straightforward.
- Open the Greenlight app and log in to your account
- From your Safety dashboard, tap the "+" icon
- Tap "Activate a device"
- Scan the QR code on the back of your new device, or manually enter the 13-digit serial number
- When prompted, assign a name and choose a photo or emoji for the new device
- Tap "Next"
- Review your plan details on the confirmation screen
