How do I add a Safe Family device to my existing Greenlight account?

Already a Greenlight family? Great news — you can add a Safe Family device directly to your existing account without creating a new one. Here's how.

How do I add a device if I'm on Greenlight Core, Max, Infinity, or Family Shield?

  1. Scan the QR code on the back of your device with your smartphone's camera
  2. Open the Greenlight app and tap "Sign in" to log in to your account
  3. The app will automatically detect your Safe Family device using the QR code you scanned

Tip: If your device doesn't appear automatically, scan the QR code again or manually enter the 13-digit serial number located on the back of your device.

  1. When prompted, assign a name and choose a photo or emoji for your device — this is how it will appear on your map in the Greenlight app
  2. Tap "Next"
  3. If you already have a payment method on file, tap "Confirm" to complete your device setup. If you need to add a new one, tap "Confirm and add payment method"
    • Your device requires an active data connection to provide GPS location, place alerts, SOS alerts, and more. As an existing Greenlight plan subscriber, your device data subscription is $4.99/month per active device.
  4. Tap "Save payment method" to complete your setup

How do I add another device if I'm already on the Safe Family plan?

If you're already on the Greenlight Safe Family plan and want to add a second or additional device, the process is just as straightforward.

  1. Open the Greenlight app and log in to your account
  2. From your Safety dashboard, tap the "+" icon
  3. Tap "Activate a device"
  4. Scan the QR code on the back of your new device, or manually enter the 13-digit serial number
  5. When prompted, assign a name and choose a photo or emoji for the new device
  6. Tap "Next"
  7. Review and confirm the additional $5.99/month data subscription for the new device and tap "Confirm"
