Can I split my child's chore earnings across multiple spend categories?
Absolutely! You can split earnings across any spend categories on your child's account, including Spend Anywhere, General Savings, Cash to Invest, Give, and any custom spend categories or savings goals you've set up. Every family is different, so allocate however works best for yours.
How do I add or remove spend categories from the allocation screen?
To add or remove categories, tap the Amount field on any chore to access the Amount and allocation screen.
To add a category:
- Tap "+ Add" at the bottom of the screen
- Select the spend category you want to include
- Adjust the percentage for that category and any others as needed
- Tap "Save"
To remove a category:
- Tap the “–” button next to the category you want to remove
- Reallocate the remaining percentages across the other categories
- Tap "Save"
Note: Your total allocation must equal 100% before you can save.
What if a spend category isn't available for all children assigned to the chore?
If a spend category doesn't exist across all of your assigned children's accounts, you'll see an error message letting you know. Simply remove the incompatible category, confirm your changes, reallocate to reach 100%, and save.
