SOS alerts can be sent from the Greenlight app or from a Greenlight Safe Family device, depending on your plan and your family’s setup. The steps below will walk you through setting up SOS alerts for your app!
Before you start
SOS alerts* must be set up on each individual device. For SOS alerts to work for everyone on your Greenlight account, each family member needs to turn on and complete SOS alert setup from their own device while logged into their own Greenlight app.
Steps to set up SOS Alerts on your mobile device
- Log in to the Greenlight app on your device.
- Primary Accountholder and Authorized Approvers: Use your phone number to log in
-
Kids and Teens: Use your Greenlight username or phone number
Need to set up their login? Learn how here. - Older Adults: Log in with your phone number and password
- Tap the "Safety" tab at the bottom of the screen
- In your Safety Dashboard, find the features that haven’t been activated yet.
- Tap "Activate" to turn on SOS Alerts for yourself
- Tap "Remind" to send a text reminder to your kids or older adults so they can activate the feature on their own device
- Tap through the onboarding screens to finish setup
- You’re all set! Now you’ll be able to send an SOS alert to 911 and/or any member of your Greenlight account that also has "SOS Alert" set up
A Few Things to Keep in Mind
