Who receives your SOS alert depends on how the alert is sent.
SOS alerts sent from the Greenlight app
When you send an SOS alert from the Greenlight app, you can choose who receives it:
- Family members on your Greenlight account
- 911
- Or both
If an SOS alert is sent from the app login screen, both 911 and registered family members will receive the alert.

SOS alerts sent from a Safe Family device
SOS alerts sent from a Greenlight Safe Family device are shared with family members on your Greenlight account to alert them quickly if the device holder needs help.
These alerts are sent via push notification and SMS text message to the Primary Accountholder and Authorized Approvers on the connected Greenlight account.
SOS alerts sent from a Greenlight Safe Family device are not sent to 911.
