Can the Greenlight card be used with Mobile Wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay)? How do I set them up?

Yes! Once you have activated your Greenlight card in your app, it is compatible with all three and is extremely easy to set up making for an easier checkout experience. 

Please Note:

  • Kids must be 13 or older to equip their Greenlight cards with Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay.
  • Your child must have a valid email or phone number connected to their Greenlight account.  

 

How to enable Apple Pay:

Via Greenlight App on your child’s device

  1. Go to your child’s profile
  2. Click on “Manage Card”
  3. Click on “Add to Apple Wallet”

  1. Enter in your child’s card information

  1. Agree to the cardholder agreement

  1. You should be able to see the confirmation screen letting you know that your card has successfully been added to your mobile wallet. 

Please note: this must be done on your child’s device, as this feature is not available on the parent’s app.

 

Via Apple Pay 

  1. Go to Settings on your iPhone.
  2. Click on "Wallet & Apple Pay."
  3. Click "Add Card" under the Payment Cards section.
  4. Choose "Credit or Debit Card."
  5. Scan your card or input the card information manually.
  6. You may be prompted to verify your card with our team by calling the phone number that appears. This is extremely seamless and only takes 5 minutes to complete.
  7. You are all set!

Once you are ready to pay with Apple Pay, simply click on the power button on the right side of your iPhone twice to prompt your card to appear on your phone and hold it close to the point of sale terminal.

Please Note: Our cards cannot be used with AppleCash to transfer money from person to person. Our cards can be used with ApplePay to make transactions with merchants.

  1. Download and open the Google Pay app.
  2. Click on the Payments tab at the bottom of the screen.
  3. At the bottom, click “+ payment method.”
  4. Click "Add credit or debit card."
  5. Enter your card info.
  6. You may be prompted to verify your card with our team by calling the phone number that appears. This is extremely seamless and only takes 5 minutes to complete.
  7. You are all set!

To pay with Google Pay, simply unlock your phone and hold it over the point of sale terminal until a blue checkmark appears on your phone.

How to enable Samsung Pay:

  1. Download and open the Samsung Pay app.
  2. Sign in with your Samsung account information.
  3. To set up the fingerprint verification method, tap Use Fingerprint then follow the onscreen instructions. Alternatively, tap Skip and use Samsung Pay PIN to set up the PIN verification method.
  4. Tap "Menu" in the top left corner, and then click on "Cards."
  5. Select Add card then tap Add credit/debit card.
  6. Input your card information.
  7. You may be prompted to verify your card with our team by calling the phone number that appears. This is extremely seamless and only takes 5 minutes to complete.
  8. You are all set!

Once you are ready to pay with Samsung Pay, simply swipe up on the home screen to select which card you would like to use. Then, hold your phone close to the point of sale terminal.
