Your Greenlight Wallet is the digital version of your regular wallet and is where you store money you want to add to your family’s Greenlight debit cards.
You can see the balance of your Greenlight Wallet by navigating to your Dashboard, which is the first page you see when opening the Greenlight app.
If you have a verified funding source on file, you can add money to your Greenlight Wallet manually or set up autofunding.
Option 1 - Manually Add Money to the Greenlight Wallet
- Open the Greenlight app
- Locate the Greenlight Wallet and tap “Add $”
- Select the amount you want to add from our pre-set options or choose to manually enter the amount by tapping “Other”
- Choose the “From” funding source that you’d like the money to be transferred from if you have multiple attached to your Greenlight Wallet

Tap “Add” and your funds will be transferred
- If you are loading via ACH (or bank account) you will see when the funds will be available for use. Usually funds are available instantly, but it can take 3-4 business days for them to be available.
Please note, your “Preferred” funding source will automatically populate for you when adding money to your Greenlight Wallet. If you’d like to change which funding source is set as your preferred Bank Account and ACH follow the steps below:
- Tap the settings gear in the top right corner of your home dashboard
- Tap “Account”
- Tap “Funding”
- Tap “Funding sources”
- Tap on the funding source you’d like to make your preferred bank account or debit card
- Toggle on “Make this my preferred funding source”
Option 2 - Greenlight Autofunding
- Tap the settings in the top right of your home dashboard
- Tap “Account”
- Tap “Funding”

Tap “Autofunding”
- If you do not have Greenlight Wallet Autofunding set up, you can also navigate to Autofunding by tapping on “Set up autofunding” from the Greenlight Wallet on your home dashboard.

You will see 2 options under “Greenlight Wallet”’ in “Autofunding”
- When account is low: Automatically add a set amount of funds each time your Greenlight Wallet drops below a certain amount that you set.
- On 1st of each month: Automatically add a set amount of funds on the 1st of each month.
Can my child or older adult fund their own Greenlight account?
No. Cardholders cannot have their own funding source on file to add money to their Greenlight accounts. All transfers must be funded by the Primary Accountholder or the Authorized Approver.
