With Greenlight, you can set your child’s allowance, to be paid out on a schedule that works best for your family — weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. Once you've chosen a day, your child will receive their allowance regularly on that date, as long as there are enough funds in your Greenlight Wallet or Autofunding is turned on.
If you’ve linked your child’s chores to their allowance, and selected the “All or nothing” option, keep in mind: they’ll only get paid if all of their chores for the week are marked complete and have been reviewed by you (if you required them to be) before payday.
No matter how you’ve set things up, Greenlight will send you a reminder the day before allowance is scheduled. If you ever need to hit pause, you can do that right from the app! For more information on how to manage or pause your child’s allowance, check out this article!
What happens if an allowance payment doesn't go through?
If an allowance payment doesn't go through, don't worry — your child's next scheduled payment will still be paid out as long as there are enough funds available at that time. Keep in mind that the missed payment won't be made up, so only the next scheduled amount will be paid out.
Important: If there aren't enough funds in your Greenlight Wallet to cover all allowance payments, no allowance payments will be paid out that cycle.
