How do I create a chore or a job for my child?

To set up a new chore for your child: 

1. Navigate to your child’s dashboard 

• • In some app versions+, find the ‘Chores’ tab at the bottom of the screen
    +App Versions 5.35 or newer

2. Tap ‘Set up’ 
3. Tap ‘Add chore’ 

• • From here, you can choose from our list of preset chores, or create a custom chore by tapping ‘Create a new chore’ 
  • You can add an option description to each chore for clarity, and set a chore as recurring by toggling-on/off ‘Recurring chore’ 
  • When ‘Recurring chore’ is toggled-on, you will be prompted to select the days of the week that you would like the chore to be completed on 
  • When ‘Recurring chore’ is toggled-off, you will be prompted to select the date that you would like the one-time chore completed on 
  • When you are finished, tap ‘Save changes’ or ‘add another chore’ to continue building your child’s chore list

To set up a new job for your child: 

1. Navigate to your child’s dashboard 

• • In some app versions+, find the ‘Chores’ tab at the bottom of the screen
    +App Versions 5.35 or newer

2. Scroll to the section titled ‘Jobs’ and click ‘Set up’ or ‘Add job’ 

• • Add a name for the job, option description, and reward amount 
  • Choose how the  job should be paid out – To ‘Spend Anywhere’, ‘General Savings’, or to ‘Giving’ 
  • If you’d like, add an optional due date 
  • When you’re finished, tap ‘Save changes’ or ‘Add another job’ to continue building your child’s job list 

When your child completes a chore or a job, you will get a notification. For jobs, you can decide if you’d like to ‘Pay now’ or ‘Pay later’ to ensure the job was completed to your satisfaction. 

If your child has their own login, they will receive reminders for any uncompleted chores or jobs the morning they are due.

Can I create my own chores and jobs for my child, or do I have to use the preset option?
There are no preset options for jobs. They are completely custom to your family’s needs. With chores, you can choose from our preset list or type in a custom chore when creating your child’s chore list.
