How do I create a chore or a job for my child?

To set up a new chore for your child:

1. Navigate to your child's dashboard.
2. Scroll down to the section titled “Chores” and click "Set up."
3. Once on the Chores page, click "Add chore."
4. From here, you can choose from our list of preset chores or type a custom chore into the “create a new chore” section.
5. From here, you can add an optional description to each chore for clarity, and then choose whether or not you would like the chore to recur by toggling-on “Recurring chore”.
6. When the “Recurring chore” is toggled-on, you will be prompted to select the days of the week that you would like the chore to be completed on.
   1. Note: If the “recurring chore” toggle is left off, you will be prompted to select the date that you would like the one-time chore completed on.
7. When you are finished, tap "Save Changes" to move on, or “Add another chore” to continue building your child’s chore list. 
8. If desired, you can choose to connect your child's allowance payout to their chore progress for both one-time and recurring chores.

To set up a new job for your child:

1. Navigate to your child's dashboard.
2. Scroll down to the section titled “Jobs” and click "Set up."
3. Once on the Jobs page, click "Add job."
4. From here, add a name for the job, an optional description for clarity, and the reward amount.
5. You can then choose where the reward for the job should be paid - To Spend Anywhere, To General Savings or To Giving.
6. Finally, select whether or not this job has a due date. This is not required. 
7. When you are finished, tap "Save Changes." to move on, or “Add another job” to continue building your child’s job list.

When your child completes a chore or a job, you will get a notification. For jobs, you can then decide if you would like to “Pay Now” or “Pay Later” so you can check to ensure the job was completed to your satisfaction.

If your child has their own login, they will receive reminders for any uncompleted chores or jobs the morning they are due.

Can I create my own chores and jobs for my child, or do I have to use a preset option?
There are no preset options for jobs. They are completely custom to your family’s needs. With chores, you can choose from our preset list or type in a custom chore when creating your child's chore list.
