Getting to know your Family Hub's Settings

Your Family Hub's settings give you full control over how your device looks, behaves, and connects — all in one place! Your Settings page is organized into five tabs, and parents can manage them at any time, utilizing their PIN for certain settings. However, no PIN is required just to open the Settings page on your Hub.

To get there, tap the Settings gear icon within the navigation bar on your Family Hub.

Device tab

The Device tab is where you manage everything related to your Family Hub's hardware and system behavior.

Brightness — drag the slider to adjust the screen brightness to your preference. Toggle "Auto dim" on and your Hub will automatically dim the screen when the room gets dark, helping it blend naturally into your home at night

Volume — drag the slider to adjust speaker volume. Toggle "Keyboard clicks" on or off depending on whether you’d like a little auditory feedback while typing

Mute Microphone — toggle this on to turn off the AI Voice assistant. When muted, the “Hey Greenlight" wake word will not trigger a response, so the AI assistant will only respond when you tap it, solely utilizing the AI text assistant feature. WiFi — tap to view the list of networks available for your Family Hub and to connect to a new Wi-Fi network. For troubleshooting help, click here.

Display preferences — tap to adjust:

  • Time format: 12-hour or 24-hour (default: 12-hour)
  • Timezone preference
  • Temperature: Fahrenheit or Celsius (default: Fahrenheit)

System — tap to open the system panel, where you can:

  • Check for and install software updates
  • View your current software and firmware version and last updated date
  • Check your battery level (10.1-inch model)
  • Perform a “Factory reset”

Family tab

The Family tab is where you manage your household and family member information.

[Family Name] Family — tap to view and edit your household name. Your home address and Family Hub email address are shown here too, but they're read-only. You can update your address within your account settings in the Greenlight app.

PIN — Parents can tap to open a QR code you can scan with your mobile device to change your admin PIN in the Greenlight app. For everything about the PIN, visit How does the PIN work on Greenlight Family Hub?

Family Members — view all your family members and manage their profiles. For full steps, visit this article

Screen Saver tab

The Screen Saver tab controls your Family Hub’s Screen Saver settings. This is what and how your Hub displays when it's not actively being used.

Plans tab

The Plans tab shows your current Greenlight plan. Tap the QR code to scan with your mobile device and manage your plan in the Greenlight app — all plan changes happen there, not on the Hub. Click here for the full steps.

The Help & Support tab is your quick path to getting help whenever you need it:

  • Knowledge base — scan the QR code to open the Greenlight Help Center on your phone.
